Fearing that Republican candidate Donald Trump may declare his victory even before the final counting is completed and formal announcement is made, Democrats have prepared a response, news organisations have reported.

In case of such a premature declaration by Trump, the Democrats, according to the plan, will flood the social media and airwaves for calm and patience with counting of votes and formal declaration of the final result.

The fear of the Democrats reportedly is coming from the recent statement of Trump in which he had maintained that he hoped to be able to declare victory on election day, although, according to election experts, the counting takes days for completion.

Trump and Democratic candidate Kamala Harris are locked up in a very close contest and result would be decided by a very thin margin, possibly that of the swing voters in the crucial battleground states, where both the candidates are concentrating before the day of polling.

"We are sadly ready if he does and, if we know that he is actually manipulating the press and attempting to manipulate the consensus of the American people ... we are prepared to respond," Harris has been quoted as saying by news organisations.
