President Macron wants his prime minister in place when the ceremony to reopen the famous Notre Dame Cathedral is held on Saturday. U.S. President-elect Donald Trump and many world leaders, according to news reports, are expected to attend the function.
The iconic Parisian cathedral is famous for its legendary architecture and grand history. A nasty fire on April 15, 2019, devastated Notre-Dame de Paris, particularly to its roof and spire. Standing on the banks of the Seine River in the heart of Paris, the Notre-Dame de Paris is a medieval period architectural marvel. In total, 846 million euros ($891 million/ Rs 75.4 billion) was raised through donations from 340,000 donors across 150 countries, with the surplus funds allocated to the restoration of other monuments. Media reports suggest that 8,000 organ pipes were cleaned and returned, and 1,500 solid oak pews crafted—all of which has taken the immense effort of 2,000 skilled artisans for five long years.
