There is re-working of security and defense in Europe after U.S. President Donald Trump’s administration is shifting its foreign policy. European leaders on Thursday held a summit in Brussels and pledged to stand by Ukraine and spend more on defense.
According to reports, leaders said that Europe is powerful enough and will win the arms race. "Europe as a whole is truly capable of winning any military, financial, economic confrontation with Russia - we are simply stronger," said Polish Prime Minister Donald Tusk, according to reports by news organisations.
So far, Europe had been getting the support of the U.S., but U.S. President Donald Trump has taken some steps that indicate shifting of the most powerful nation’s foreign policy.
However, there is also a hope in a section of the European leaders that the U.S. could be coaxed to remain in the traditional fold, as this would ensure full-proof security of the continent.
