Canadians took out an “elbow up” rally on Friday in order to express their displeasure over U.S. President Donald Trump’s tariff and his statement on annexing Canada as the U.S.’s 51 State.

The U.S.’s tariff on steel and aluminium is all set to impact Canada’s economy and it supplies huge amount of this material to the United States. Trump has imposed 25 per cent tariff on steel and aluminium that impacts not just Canada, but also Mexico, European Union, China and South Korea among a few more nations.

Elbow Up, in the parlance of sports, means “readiness to fight”. Canada has already announced retaliatory tariff on some of U.S. goods exported to Canada.
