China Supports Iran the Talks with the U.S. on Nuclear Programmes

China is supporting Iran in the talks with the United States on Iran’s nuclear programmes and would stand against use of any force or sanctions that might be engaged to settle the issue, according to reports. Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi told this to Iran's Foreign Minister Abbas Araqchi who visited Beijing on Wednesday.

Iran-U.S. talks on Iran’s nuclear programmes have started and Oman is mediating the talks between the two nations. While United States believe that Iran is busy developing nuclear weapons, Iran maintains that it is engaged in peaceful nuclear programmes. United States President Donald Trump has said that if Iran did not negotiate and enter into a deal with the U.S., the U.S. will bomb Iran, as well as impose third party sanctions.

"The China commends Iran's promise not to develop nuclear weapons and respects Iran's right to utilise nuclear energy peacefully," Wang was quoted as saying.
