Elon Musk-owned Starlink’s biggest rival China-based SpaceSail signed a memorandum of understanding with a Brazilian telecommunication company on Wednesday to enter Brazilian market, news organisations have reported.
SpaceSail is a low-earth orbit satellite company that has taken benefit of the U.S. presidential transition to expand its business clout in South American nations. SpaceSail signed the agreement with Brazilian telecommunications firm Telecomunicacoes Brasileiras in order to provide satellite communications and broadband Internet services to the Latin American country.
Chinese President Xi Jinping met Brazilian President Luiz Inacio Lula da Silva during his state visit to Brasilia on Wednesday, and the two leaders have agreed to mutually cooperate in trade. They are slated to sign agreements to boost trade and cooperation across sectors from agribusiness to energy and aerospace.
