According to reports by news organisations, the incident took place in the Syrian Christian majority city of Suqaylabiyah, a video of which went around prompting a protest. There had already been a fear in the minority Christian community under the new Islamic regime. Syria is a nation with one of the oldest Christian communities in the world, prior to the emergence of Islam.
The protesters in the capital demanded of the new government of providing protection to the minority Christian community in Syria.
