U.S. President Joe Biden and Vice President Kamala Harris appeared jointly for the first time on Monday to attend a ceremony Arlington National Cemetery to honour the war veterans, this being the first after the loss in the presidential election.
President Biden laid a wreath and said: "It’s been the greatest honour of my life," as Ms Harris stood alongside, both the top Democrats yet to be come out of the sadness of loss in the election. Biden said that it would be his last time at the ceremony as commander in chief.
According to media reports, the recent presidential election has left the Democrats as the underdog in the U.S. national politics for years to come, as the Republicans will have upper hand in both the houses of the Congress.
